                Exercise number Task
1 Create Plain weave (1×1) design
                       2 Make A 2/2 Twill

                       3 Make a 5-end satin 3
4 Design a custom complex weave draft (honeycomb or mock leno)
5 Export your draft and create a large fabric swatch texture

TASK 2: Process for plain weave design on CorelDraw

Step 1: Open a New Document • Use Rectangle Tool (F6):

       • Open CorelDRAW - Draw small squares on each grid intersection
       • Go to: File → New where warp is over weft (let’s say, fill with black
                                                                  color).
       • Set Page Size: 10 cm × 10 cm (or 500 × 500 px for
digital design) Step 4: Color Warp and Weft Threads
                                                            • Warp threads → Use Blue Color
       • Units: Millimetres (mm) or Pixels (px)
Step 2: Draw the Base Grid • Weft threads → Use Red Color
Use “Smart Fill Tool” in CorelDraw for this.
This grid will represent warp (vertical) and weft
(horizontal) threads. Step 5: Create the Pattern Repeat (Rapport)
       • Go to: View → Grid → Show Grid • Group the full grid design.
       • Set Grid Spacing: For example, 1 mm or 10 px • Copy-paste the group to check seamless repeat
spacing (Tile 2×2 or 3×3 next to each other).
OR • Adjust for perfect alignment.
       • Manually draw lines: Step 6: Convert to Pattern Fill (Optional)
          - Select Polyline Tool or Line Tool • Go to: Tools → Create → Pattern Fill
          - Draw equal spaced vertical and horizontal lines • Select your weave grid area
            (Example: 10 warp × 10 weft)
                                                            • Save the pattern fill for use on different shapes (for
Step 3: Mark Interlacement Points (Over-Under simulation on garments, bags, etc.).
              Structure)
Step 7: Export Your Final Design
Plain Weave Rule • File → Export → JPEG / PNG / PDF
       • Each warp goes over one weft, then under the next, • Resolution: 300 DPI (For print) or 150 DPI (For
          and so on.
                                                            screen)
       • Weft does the reverse.
